30% more engagement, from making complex data findable
Analysts struggled to navigate dense drug-patent data. Redesigned discovery, filtering, and information hierarchy.
Result
30% increase in engagement · 22% faster access to relevant data
Challenge
Despite housing valuable drug information, the existing system was difficult to navigate. Users, mostly analysts and domain experts, struggled to locate relevant information quickly, leading to frustration, inefficiency, and drop-offs in platform engagement.
Context
The client is a market intelligence platform used to analyze drug information. The product team was aware of usability issues but lacked structured research to guide improvements. I worked as both UX Researcher and Designer, embedded in a matrix team across product, compliance, and engineering.

Faster access to relevant patent data through intuitive filtering and navigation
My Approach

Research
Conducted stakeholder interviews and user shadowing. Defined key research questions:
- Who are we designing for?
- What are their goals and frustrations?
- Why are users unable to find critical data?
Behavioral Insight
Discovered repeated friction in locating specific drug patent info. Surfaced emotional moments: confusion, delays, missed opportunities.
Personas & Journey Mapping
Developed representative personas. Mapped end-to-end usage journeys to identify gaps and unmet needs.
Ideation & Wireframes
Sketched out improved workflows. Designed high-fidelity wireframes focused on data discoverability.
Usability Testing
Validated prototype with real users. Iterated flows to address content hierarchy and information clarity.

To bridge silos between design, engineering, and business stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of user needs.
03
Championed continuous validation

Embedding usability testing into the product lifecycle, ensuring the voice of the user remained central post-launch.
04
Balanced execution with leadership

Taking ownership of delivery while mentoring junior designers and contributing to product strategy.
